Shankar Tucker went to the Pioneer Valley Performing Arts Charter Public School. In 2006, he managed to secure admission at the New England Conservatory of Music on a scholarship. He graduated from the conservatory in 2010 with a Bachelor of Clarinet Classical Performance, Classical Music.

  1. When he was very young, he used to play the saxophone. However, his parents and grandfather managed to influence him to take up the clarinet.
  2. He started taking classical clarinet training at the age of 10.
  3. While studying in the conservatory, he was performing Western Classical Music at prestigious venues such as Jordan Hall and Symphony Hall, Boston.
  4. After he graduated from the conservatory, he was given a grant by the Frank Huntington Beebe Fund so that he could learn to add clarinet to the Indian Classical music performance.
  5. In 2012, his ensemble was invited to perform in the Diwali function hosted at the White House by the US Vice-President Joe Biden.
  6. He has been invited to speak at the TEDxGateway conference in Mumbai and TEDxCEG in Chennai.
